DENVER – Members of the University of Denver men's and women's swimming and diving programs have been in the water this summer, swimming at both the Mel Zajac Jr. International Swim Meet and the Fran Crippen Memorial Swim Meet of Champions.

The Mel Zajac Jr. International was held at the University of British Columbia May 23-26. Junior Cameron Auchinachie (Binghamton, N.Y.) turned in the third-best overall men's performance of the meet with a 49.63 in the 100 free to take first in the event. Auchinachie also won the 50 free with a 22.73, both new 2020 U.S. Olympic Trial cut times.

Additional podium finishes saw Auchinachie take second in the 50 back (25.62) and assistant coach Kyle Robrock, take third in the 100 fly in a time of 54.65. In the 18-and-under category, sophomore Brandi Vu (Longmont, Colo.) earned podium finishes in the 100 breast (3rd/1:12.45) and the 50 breast (1st/32.67). Overall, Denver had 12 additional A-Final swims and 37 total final swims in the event.

This year's Fran Crippen Memorial Swim Meet of Champions was in Mission Viejo last week. Robrock finished fourth in the 50 fly (24.47) before taking seventh in the 100 fly with a new 2020 U.S. Olympic Trial Cut time of 54.15.
