SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The 2019 Denver women's volleyball team has been tabbed for a first-place finish in the Summit League for the sixth straight season, the league office announced on Wednesday.

The Pioneers landed five first-place votes to top South Dakota, who followed closely behind with four first-place nods in the 2019 poll.
Â
Denver received 61 total votes after going a perfect 15-0 in Summit League play in 2018.

Three Pios were also named to the 2019 "Players to Watch" list released alongside the preseason poll. Senior
Katarina Marinkovic (Belgrade, Serb.) was named to the watch list for the second consecutive season after receiving All-League honors in 2018. Junior
Tina Boe (Plymouth, Minn.) and senior transfer
Amanda Green (Skokie, Ill.) were also acknowledged as players to watch in 2019.

Denver will begin its 2019 campaign on August 30
th with a 6 p.m. matchup against San Francisco in the Hamilton Gymnasium.
