SEATTLE – The [18/17] University of Denver men's soccer team shared the spoils with [RV/RV] Seattle after the two teams played to a 0-0 draw on Monday evening at Championship Field.
Redshirt-senior Will Palmquist (Denver, Colo.) kept his seventh-career cleansheet on Monday night, stopping six shots in the match.
Since head coach Jamie Franks joined the staff as an assistant in 2012, Denver has now kept 68 cleansheets (60-0-8).
Redshirt-sophomore centerback Bailey Heller (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) had the best opportunity for the Pioneers in the opening 45 minutes, heading a Jacob Stensson (Stockholm, Sweden) free kick from 40 yards out off the left post and out for a goal kick.
Junior forward Preston Judd (Henderson, Nev.) had Denver's best look of the second half in the 73rd minute, fighting through three tackles before firing a shot just outside the far post.
Seattle outshot Denver 16-9 in regulation, but it was the Pioneers that controlled the better of the chances in the final 15 minutes heading into extra time.
Junior forward Josh Drack (Chandler, Ariz.) had the cleanest look in the first overtime, forcing the first save of the night from Akili Kasim in the 95th minute.
Judd hit the Redhawks on the counterattack in the 105th minute for Denver's best opportunity in the second period of extra time, but he wasn't able to create a good enough angle for the attempt and it rolled wide of the post.
