After back-to-back road trips, the No. 4 Denver Pioneers hockey team (17-4-5, NCHC 7-3-4-3) returns to the Mile High City for a home series vs. No. 10 Minnesota Duluth on Jan. 31 - Feb. 1. Earlier this season, the Pioneers emerged from Duluth, Minn. with a 3-3 tie and 5-2 loss. Puck drop is set for 7:07 p.m. MT Friday & Saturday at Magness Arena.

Denver has had a 13-game unbeaten streak three times in its history. The Pioneers' longest unbeaten streak in a single season is 26 games (1960-61)
-Denver allows the 7^th fewest goals per game in the NCAA (2.08). The Pioneers have limited their opponents to two or fewer goals in each of their last four games
-The Pioneers' penalty kill is 5^th in the NCAA, going 83/93 (89.2%). Denver has scored four shorthanded goals, T-6^th in the NCAA

Kohen Olischefski Named NCHC Forward of the Week
-Kohen Olischefski was named NCHC Forward of the Week after recording three goals and two assists in Denver's 3-2 and 5-2 wins against Miami on Jan. 24-25
-In addition to his point total, Olischefski tallied seven shots, two blocked shots, a +1 rating and a .833 faceoff percentage on six draws
 
Denver vs. Minnesota Duluth
-Denver is two points ahead of Minnesota Duluth in the NCHC standings
-The Pioneers are 126-81-13 all-time vs. the Bulldogs, recently going 0-1-1 in their series earlier this season at Minnesota Duluth on Nov. 8-9, 2019 (3-3 T, 5-2 L)
-Denver is 1-3-1 in its last five meetings with Minnesota Duluth and 5-4-1 in its last 10
-Four Pioneers and Bulldogs previously played together in the USHL or NAHL
 
Extending the Streak
-Last March, Denver became only the third team in NCAA history to compile 18-consecutive 20-win seasons. The last time the Pioneers missed the 20-game threshold was 2000-01 when the team finished 19-15-4 under George Gwozdecky
-The Pioneers' streak of 18 straight 20-win seasons is the longest active streak in the NCAA. The NCAA record for consecutive 20-win seasons is held by Michigan, which had 25 from 1987-2012

-Cole Guttman is T-1^st in the NCAA with five game-winning goals
-Ian Mitchell is T-11^th among NCAA defensemen with 21 points (6-15-21)
-Magnus Chrona has a 2.18 GAA, 2^nd among NCAA freshmen, a .919 SV%, 4^th among NCAA freshmen, and two shutouts, 2^nd among NCAA freshmen. He is 13-4-3 this season with the 2^nd-most wins among NCAA freshmen
-Bobby Brink has nine goals, T-4^th among NCAA freshmen, 68 shots, T-4^th among NCAA freshmen, and 21 points (9-12-21), T-6^th among NCAA freshmen

-Bobby Brink is on a three-game point streak with one goal and three assists
-Brett Stapley has one goal and eight assists in his last seven games

Gwozdecky Inducted to Denver Athletics Hall of Fame
 -Former head coach George Gwozdecky was named among 12 inductees for the 2020 Denver Athletic Hall of Fame class to be honored on campus May 16, 2020
-Gwozdecky posted a 443-267-64 record with the Pioneers from 1994-2013, winning back-to-back National Championships in 2004 & 2005, three WCHA regular-season titles, four WCHA playoff titles and posting 16 20-win seasons. He received the Spencer Penrose Award as National Coach of the Year in 2005
-In 2008, Gwozdecky honored head coach David Carle's scholarship to DU when Carle forced to retire prior to his freshman season for medical reasons. Carle joined the Pioneers staff as a student assistant coach before graduating in 2012 and returning to Denver as a full-time assistant under Jim Montgomery in 2014
 
Home Cookin'
-Denver is 35-10-8 at home since the 2017-18 season, posting a .660 winning percentage and taking points from 84% of its games
 
70^th Anniversary Season
-The Pioneers are playing in their 70th Anniversary Season. Since its inaugural season in 1949, Denver has made 30 appearances in the NCAA tournament, 17 appearances in the Frozen Four and won eight National Championships, tied for the second-most titles among any college hockey program
