Denver Looks to Continue Hot Start at DTP

The Denver Pioneers men's tennis team (4-0, 0-0) has an opportunity to push its winning streak to six matches with a pair of home tilts this week at the Denver Tennis Park.

After defeating Bryant (7-0), Metro State (7-0) and Weber State (5-2) in a set of three matches in two days last week, the Pioneers turn around to host Northern Colorado on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 5:30 p.m. MT and Utah State on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 12:30 p.m. MT. This weekend will mark the close of Denver's five-match home stand, however another home stretch will begin on Feb. 13 as the Pioneers will play six straight on their home court.

Through four matches, juniors James Davis and Matt Summers lead Denver with a 4-0 mark at singles. Summers is 3-0 at #1 singles and 1-0 at #2 singles, while Davis has played every match at #3 singles. On the doubles court, the tandem is 4-0 at #1.

Northern Colorado (2-3) has a common opponent with Denver, losing to Bryant 7-0 on Jan. 24. Utah State (1-3) enters this weekend on a three-match losing streak.
