Tied 1-1 at the first intermission, the Pioneers scored twice in 15 seconds less than two minutes into the second period to establish a lead they'd build upon later in the game. Cole Guttman, Ryan Barrow, Mike Benning and Carter Savoie had multi-point games. Denver outshot Miami 37-23 and won the faceoff battle 37-21.
