- Freshmen have accounted for 52% of Denver's goals and 23% of its points. Five of six freshmen skaters have a point this season. Four have scored their first NCAA goals
- The Pioneers are wearing jersey patches with the letters "JB" honoring the late Joy Burns whose vast contributions to DU included becoming the first woman to chair the University of Denver Board of Trustees, which she did for 17 years, making direct contributions to the physical transformation of campus and helping the athletic department move to Division I
