Tyler Krivstov Joins Denver Hockey for 2026-27 Season

Goaltender transfer played two seasons at Alaska Anchorage

DENVER – University of Denver hockey announced on Tuesday that goaltender Tyler Krivtsov is set to join the Pioneers for the 2026-27 campaign as a transfer student.

"I chose Denver because I think it's the best place you can play college hockey from the academics to the standards the team is held to," Krivtsov said.

Krivtsov comes to DU after guarding the pipes the past two seasons for the University of Alaska Anchorage. He appeared in 44 games for the Seawolves from 2024-2026, registering a combined 3.34 goals-against average, .898 save percentage, 6-30-4 record and one shutout.

The Santa Clarita, California, native was named UAA's Defensive Player of the Year in 2025-26 after posting a 5-19-1 mark, 4.48 goals-against average, .901 save percentage and one clean sheet while starting 24 of the team's 33 games. He made a career-high 46 saves in a 4-3 win at Denver on Oct. 31 before stopping 43-of-49 shots in the series finale at Magness Arena on Nov. 1. Overall, he made 40 or more saves four times during the campaign and recorded his first career shutout with a 35-stop performance on Nov. 18 at Stonehill.

Krivtsov started 15-of-19 games played as a freshman in 2024-25 with Alaska Anchorage and went 1-11-3 mark with a 3.12 goals-against average and .892 save percentage. Among his highlights during his rookie season was making a then-personal-best 44 saves on 45 shots faced in a 1-1 tie at Wisconsin on Nov. 30, 2024.

Prior to his time in Anchorage, Krivtsov played junior hockey in the state with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs of the North American Hockey League in 2021-22 and 2023-24, compiling a 34-26-7 record, 2.99 goals-against average and .903 save percentage in 69 career games. He also played four seasons of high school hockey with Shattuck-St. Mary's prep school in Faribault, Minnesota, from 2017-2021.

This past May, Krivtsov competed in three games and earned two wins for Jamaica in the Challenger Series in Chicago, Illinois.
