DENVER – The University of Denver's Magness Arena will once again play host to the second annual Colorado Alumni Faceoff as former DU Pioneers and Colorado Avalanche players square off on Sunday, Aug. 23 at 5 p.m. MT.

Each ticket sold makes an impact as proceeds support the Colorado Avalanche Alumni Association's mission of giving back to youth hockey, scholarships and mental health programs across the state of Colorado.
 
The two alumni bases faced off for the first time last August at Magness Arena with the Pioneers winning 8-7 in a shootout. That game featured Avalanche greats such as Peter Forsberg and Milan Hejduk and recent DU NHLers' Troy Terry and Scott Mayfield.
 
The rosters for this year's event will be announced later this summer.
 
Prior to the game starting at 3 p.m., a pre-game party featuring activations, food trucks, giveaways and more will take place outside of Magness Arena on the north lawn. Purchase a fan fair autograph ticket for the opportunity to get signatures from Avalanche and DU alumni before the matchup at DU. Tickets for this will go on sale at a later date.
