Ryder with a season-high 12 points
LARAMIE, WYO. – The University of Denver men's basketball couldn't shake a rough night on Wednesday, falling 83-61 to Wyoming in the Arena-Auditorium. Frank Ryder led the Pioneers with a season-high 12 points.
Significant Stats:
- Ryder finished with season-high 12 points in the loss
- Sam Hines Jr. also had a season-high 10 points, his first game in double figures as a Pioneer.
Inside the Box Score:
- DU's 27 turnovers were a season high.
- Pioneers had a season-low 61 points in the loss.
- Tristan Green led the team with eight boards, third time this season as the team's leading rebounder.
Turning Point:
A 15-6 run from the Cowboys over a 5:08 stretch in the early part of the first half that pushed the lead to 23-11.
As it Happened:
First Half:
Wyoming seized command early and never looked back in the opening 20 minutes, heading into the break with a 45-25 lead. Pioneers were sluggish on offense, committing 16 turnovers and shooting just 30 percent from the field.
Second Half:
Both teams traded baskets in the period, with Denver finding its rhythm by shooting 12-for-25 (48 percent) for the 20 minutes of action. Hines Jr. and Ryder showed good glimpses of things to come, being able to get near the rim and finish through contact.
Up Next:
DU (1-2) heads home for a meeting with Dixie State (2-0) on Saturday, Dec. 12.
