DENVER - The Denver Pioneers women's tennis team (5-2, 0-0) defeated Montana 7-0 in a Friday matinee at the Denver Tennis Park. The win marked Denver's third sweep of the season.

After dropping the first doubles match at #1, the Pioneers rebounded to win the doubles point with a 6-3 victory from Toni Nelson/Tatum Burger at #2 and a 7-6 (3) win from Camille Verden-Anderson/Alessia Truden at #3.

Momentum from the doubles success carried into singles play where Denver won each match in straight sets. Burger won 6-2, 6-2 at #5, Taylor Melville won 6-3, 6-3 at #1 and Nelson won 6-0, 6-2 at #6 to secure the victory for Denver. Anna Riedmiler, Britt Pursell and Hada Chang won on their courts after the match had been clinched.

The Pioneers will continue their stretch of three matches in four days on Sunday, Feb. 16 against No. 25 South Carolina and Monday, Feb. 17 against Texas Tech. Both matches will be played in Lubbock, Texas.
