Pioneers in Sixth After Two Rounds at All-State Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate

Weinstein fourth at 4-under

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The 47th-ranked University of Denver women's golf team is sixth after two rounds at the All-State Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate at the par-73, 6,336 yard English Turn Golf and Country Club. The Pioneers posted a two round total of 587 (3-over).

No. 10 Florida leads the 15-team field with a score of 572 (12-under); while North Carolina State (577; 7-under) is second and No. 32 Miami (581; 3-under) is third.

Following two straight rounds at 2-under par (71), Mary Weinstein is in fourth with a 36-hole score of 142 (4-under). The senior tallied eight birdies on day one.

"Mary was fantastic and really putted well today," head coach Lindsay Kuhle said. "Zanusso was solid tee to green and hit her wedges really close today. Camille and Alyson finished strong off a rough start today and Erika had a really good first round. It was a total team effort today and we're in a good position to make a move tomorrow.

"If we can continue to see some more putts drop tomorrow and continue to hit our approach shots close, we will put ourselves in contention for a very strong finish. I'm proud of our ladies' focus and team effort, attitude and competitiveness today on a long 36-hole day that is very mentally challenging."

Freshman Erika Danielsson registered a 3-under par (70) in round one and finished the day with a round two score of 77 (4-over). Danielsson is tied for 26th with a score of 147 (1-over).

After jumping 22 spots on the individual leaderboard with round two score of 1-under par (72), Anna Zanusso has a 36-hole total of 149 (3-over). The freshman is tied for 33rd.

Alyson Bean is tied for 40th with a score of 150 (4-over), while Camille Enright is tied 72nd after posting a 158 (12-over).

Competing as an individual, Alison Armstrong carded a 12-over par (158) to sit tied for 72nd after two rounds.
