The No. 35 Denver Pioneers men's tennis team (9-0, 0-0) won its ninth consecutive match in convincing fashion with a 7-0 win against Colorado-State Pueblo on Friday at the Denver Tennis Park.
Forfeits awarded the Pioneers the doubles point and one singles point, leaving Denver within two singles victories of continuing its undefeated start to the year.
Ignacio Rivero Crespo and
John Zakowski blanked their opponents 6-0, 6-0 at #5 and #6 respectively, while
Mattia Ros won 6-1, 6-1 at #1 and
Sean Huynh won 6-2, 6-0 at #3.
Ignatius Castelino logged the Pioneers other singles win with a 6-3, 6-1, 1-0 (10-6) win at #2.
Despite having automatically secured the doubles point, the Pioneers played to victories for Castelino/Huynh at #1 and Zakowski/Crespo at #2.
