The No. 35 Denver Pioneers men's tennis team (9-1, 0-0) lost its first match of the season to No. 23 Iowa 4-3 on Sunday at the Denver Tennis Park.
 
Mattia Ros/Pedro Fernandez del Valle had the Pioneers' lone doubles victory with a 7-5 win at #2. Fernandez del Valle carried that success into singles competition where he won 6-3, 6-2 at #5. Matt Summers and James Davis remained hot in singles play with Summers winning 6-1, 6-2 at #2 and Davis winning 6-3, 7-5 at #3.

Denver returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 29 against BYU. First serve is set for 12:30 p.m. MT at the Denver Tennis Park.
