Box Score DENVER – The [13/13] University of Denver men's lacrosse team got goals from 13 different players, using its balanced attack to defeat St. Bonaventure 16-3 on Saturday afternoon at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.
Denver reached 13 goal scorers for just the third time since associate head coach
Matt Brown joined the staff as an assistant in 2008 (2017 vs. Cleveland State and 2016 vs. Providence).
Freshman
JJ Sillstrop (Encinitas, Calif.) netted his second hat trick in three collegiate games to the lead the Pioneers in the Faceoff Classic victory.
Senior
Ethan Walker (Peterborough, Ontario) had a goal and two assists for a three-point afternoon. Walker moved into fifth in Denver's Division I history in assists on Saturday, elevating his career total to 73 with a pair today.
Junior
Jack Hannah (Milford, Ohio) and sophomore midfielder
Alex Simmons (Smithville, Ontario) had a goal and assist each to round out Denver's starters with multiple points.
Off the bench, sophomore
Drew Erickson (Danville, Calif.) joined Sillstrop as the only two multi-goal scorers, finding the back of the net a pair of times in the fourth quarter. Freshman midfielder
Reed Babcock (Denver, Colo.) led all players with three assists.
From the faceoff dot on Saturday, freshman
Alec Stathakis (Northville, Mich.) went 14-of-16, picking up eighth ground balls, while sophomore
Brett Boos (Parker, Colo.) went 6-of-7 with six ground balls.
Senior
Danny Logan (Upper Arlington, Ohio) led the Pioneers with three caused turnovers to move into ninth on Denver's career list, one behind
Matt Neufeldt.
The Pioneers played three different goalies in their second win of the season. Senior
Josh Matte (Issaquah, Wash.) improved to 9-1 in his collegiate career, playing the opening 30 minutes. Junior
Tristan Wright (Reno, Nev.) led Denver's keepers with three saves, and sophomore
Kaleb Stroman (Parker, Colo.) made a save in his collegiate debut in the fourth quarter.
Denver jumped out to a 10-1 lead in the opening 30 minutes with nine different players finding the back of the net for the Pioneers in the first half. Sillstrop, who scored five goals in his collegiate debut against Air Force on February 8, was the only multiple goal scorer in the first half, scoring once in each quarter.
Walker had two assists in the first half to lead the Pioneers in that category in the first 30 minutes. Denver took 31 shots before the intermission, putting 22 on goal, and forcing 12 saves out of Brett Dobson.

Sillstrop completed his hat trick with 14:17 to go in the third quarter, before St. Bonaventure ended the third frame on a 2-0 run to make it 11-3 heading into the fourth.
Following a quiet fourth quarter, Denver's reserves picked the scoring back up for the Pioneers in the final 15 minutes, ending the game on a 5-0 run in the final frame. Babcock had all three of his assists in the fourth quarter.
