Strong Second Half Carries [10/11] Denver to Victory Over Harvard

DENVER – The [10/11] University of Denver women's lacrosse team stayed unbeaten following a 15-6 victory over Harvard at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium on Sunday. The win marks the Pioneers fourth-straight as they improve to 4-0 while Harvard falls to 1-2 on the year.

Eliza Radochonski had a season-high five goals, leading the Pioneer offense for the second-straight game. Quintin Hoch-Bullen added three goals for the Pioneers while Julia Gilbert locked in her first career hat trick.

Defensively, Ellie Curry picked up a team-high three ground balls while Kailee Lammers added a career-high three caused turnovers. Reigning BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week Molly Little racked up a team-high five draw controls. The Pio defense held Harvard to just six shots in the final 30 minutes of play. Carson Gregg recorded three saves during her 60 minutes in goal.

Harvard struck first in the first half taking an early 3-0 lead.  Denver brought themselves within one following a pair of goals from Radochonski and Sammie Morton and continued to roll, tying things at four following a goal from Julia Gilbert. The Crimson and Gold used a Taylor DeRose goal with 2:04 remaining in the half to lock in their first lead of the game at 6-5 and head into the break with a single goal lead.

The Denver offense came alive in the second half, scoring a trio of goals in the opening 10 minutes. Four-straight from Radochonski and Hoch-Bullen extended the DU lead to 13-5 before Gilbert and Curry added two more insurance goals as the Pios took a 10-goal lead. Harvard was able to add one last goal with 1:11 remaining in the contest before the Pios ran away with a 15-6 victory.

DU will return to action on Sunday Mar. 1 as they head to Vanderbilt to take on the Commodores (11 AM MT) in Nashville.
