Match Recap: Women's Tennis |

No. 34 Denver Beats Colorado, 6-1

The No. 34 Denver Pioneers women's tennis team (9-4, 0-0) defeated Colorado 6-1 on Saturday in Boulder, Colo.

The Pioneers won with the help of the doubles point and five singles victories. Taylor Melville/Hada Chang started the day with a doubles upset, taking down #49 Malinen/Nayar 6-2 at #1. Tied 1-1 in doubles play, Denver eventually took the team point with Anna Riedmiler/Camille Verden-Anderson winning in a tiebreaker at #2, 7-6 (2). Tatum Burger (#4), Riedmiller (#2), Chang (#5) and Britt Pursell (#3) ripped off straight-set singles victories to seal the Pioneers' win in quick fashion. No. 103 Melville logged Denver's other singles win, a come-from-behind 3-6, 6-4, 10-5 triumph at #1. 

The Pioneers look ahead to the beginning of Summit League play as they're set to host Oral Roberts on Friday, March 6 at the Denver Tennis Park. First serve is set for 1 p.m. MT.
