The No. 7 Denver Pioneers (17-6-5, 7-5-4-3) enter their final bye week of the regular season before returning to the road to face No. 1 North Dakota on Feb. 14-15 in Grand Forks, N.D.

-Denver is ranked 7th in the USCHO.com poll and 5th in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll
-The Pioneers are T-4th in the PairWise rankings
 
Denver: Snapshot
-Denver is T-3rd in the NCHC standings with eight games remaining in the regular season. The top four teams in the conference receive home-ice advantage in the first round of the conference playoffs  
-The Pioneers were swept at home last weekend, marking the first time they've been swept at home since Dec. 11-12, 2015 vs. St. Cloud State. The losses to Minnesota Duluth snapped Denver's 11-game unbeaten streak
-The Pioneers allow the 10th-fewest goals per game in the NCAA (2.18) and have the 11th-highest goal margin in the NCAA (+28)
-Denver's penalty kill ranks 8th in the NCAA at 86.4% (89/103). The Pioneers went 60% (6/10) on the penalty kill on Jan. 31-Feb.1 vs. Minnesota Duluth
-Emilio Pettersen leads the Pioneers with 25 points (8-17-25). In net, Magnus Chrona has played 21 of 28 games with a 13-5-3 record, .918 SV% and 2.23 GAA. Chrona and Devin Cooley have split starts for Denver since Jan. 17-18 at Omaha
-Denver ranks 3rd in the NCAA in shots on goal per game (38.14). The Pioneers are 16-4-3 in games where they outshoot their opponent and 1-2-2 in games where they do not
 
Super Sophomores
-Denver's sophomore class ranks 2nd in NCAA scoring with 103 points (35-68-103) and accounts for 42% of the team's point production
-Sophomores Emilio Pettersen, Brett Stapley and Cole Guttman are among the Pioneers' top five scorers
 
National Stat Leaders
-Cole Guttman is T-1st in the NCAA with five game-winning goals
-Ian Mitchell is T-10th among NCAA defensemen with 22 points (6-16-22)
 
Fantastic Freshmen
-Magnus Chrona has a 2.23 GAA, 2nd among NCAA freshmen, a .918 SV%, 4th among NCAA freshmen, and two shutouts, 2nd among NCAA freshmen. He is 13-5-3 this season with the 2nd-most wins among NCAA freshmen
-Bobby Brink has 23 points (10-13-23), T-5th among NCAA freshmen, 10 goals, T-4th among NCAA freshmen, and 75 shots, 4th among NCAA freshmen. He is on a five-game point streak with two goals and four assists
 
Denver vs. North Dakota
-Denver is 128-147-16 all-time vs. North Dakota with a 44-86-10 road record
-The Pioneers went 0-1-1 vs. the Fighting Hawks earlier this season on Nov. 15-16, 2019 (1-1 T, 4-1 L). Denver is 2-1-2 in its last five games vs. North Dakota and 4-2-4 in its last 10
-North Dakota also enters a bye week. The Fighting Hawks have won four of their last five games and are on a three-game winning streak after sweeping Colorado College last weekend
 
Gwozdecky Inducted to Denver Athletics Hall of Fame
 -Former head coach George Gwozdecky was named among 12 inductees for the 2020 Denver Athletic Hall of Fame class to be honored on campus May 16, 2020
-Gwozdecky posted a 443-267-64 record with the Pioneers from 1994-2013, winning back-to-back National Championships in 2004 & 2005, three WCHA regular-season titles, four WCHA playoff titles and posting 16 20-win seasons. He received the Spencer Penrose Award as National Coach of the Year in 2005
-In 2008, Gwozdecky honored head coach David Carle's scholarship to DU when Carle was deemed unable to play for medical reasons. Carle joined the Pioneers staff as a student assistant coach before graduating in 2012 and returning to Denver as a full-time assistant under Jim Montgomery in 2014
 
70th Anniversary Season
-The Pioneers are playing in their 70th Anniversary Season. Since its inaugural season in 1949, Denver has made 30 appearances in the NCAA tournament, 17 appearances in the Frozen Four and won eight National Championships, tied for the second-most titles among any college hockey program
