SIOUX FALLS, S.D.  – University of Denver women's golf senior Mary Weinstein nabbed her second Summit League Golfer of the Week this spring on Wednesday in a release by the league. The former Regis standout was recognized for her top-10 finish at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational on Wednesday.
 
Weinstein finished 10th during the event with a 54-hole total of 215 (1-under), highlighted by a season-low round of 67 on the final day of play on Tuesday.
 
This marks the sixth time in her career for the Crimson and Gold she has won the award.
 
"Mary was outstanding this week and especially in the final round shooting 67," head coach Lindsay Kuhle said. "She was steady and very confident with her ball-striking this week. Mary has really worked hard and pushed herself to become a great leader for this program, top player for short game and putting, and most importantly her mental game.

"She is so calm and consistent this season and maintains a growth mindset with her experiences and improvement. To shoot 1-under on this challenging championship course this past week really speaks to how she has matured even more as a person and player along with the continued improvement with her game, and confidence in short game. This is the sixth-lowest score in program history at DU and I couldn't be more proud of Mary for her play this past week and on Tuesday." 

For the tournament, Weinstein posted a 71.6 scoring average with two rounds of par or better.
 
On the year, she is averaging a 72.45 scoring average, second best on the team.
 
Denver finished fourth in the 11-team field, going low on the final day to shoot a season-best 278 (10-under) as a team.
 
The Pioneers return to action for the ASU Ping Invitational on Mar. 27 in Phoenix.
