Denver Pioneers women's lacrosse assistant coach
Brittany Read has been named to England Women's World Cup training squad for the forthcoming 2020-21 season in advance of the 2021 Women's World Championship to be played from July 7-17 in Towson, Md.
Of the 31 players selected for the roster, Read is among four goalies and four U.S.-based players that will continue to work stateside as college coaches for the majority of the season. Over the next year, England is scheduled to meet for monthly training sessions, games and tours before deciding its final 18-player World Championship roster.
Read played three seasons at Louisville and one at Oregon prior to joining the Pioneers staff. The Gibbsboro, N.J. native went 22-9 at Louisville from 2015-2017 setting school records for career save percentage (.516), saves (323), and wins (22) as well as for single-season saves (194) and save percentage (.515). Read went 9-9 in 2018 for the Ducks, leading the Pac-12 with a 9.94 saves per game average and being named Second-Team All-Pac-12.
