Last Time Out
Denver defeated Notre Dame 14-11 in South Bend on March 7, 2020, the Pioneers final game of the 2020 season before the campaign was halted due to COVID-19.
 
DI Series History
The Pioneers and Utes met for the first time in program history on February 23, 2019, a 15-6 Denver win at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium in the only meeting between the two programs. Utah joined Division I lacrosse in the 2019 campaign. Ethan Walker (Peterborough, Ontario), Drew Erickson (Danville, Calif.) and Ellis Geis (Tustin, Calif.) had hat tricks in the Denver win.
 
Other Team Notes

• Head coach Bill Tierney is in his 12th season with the Pioneers, holding a 136-43 record at DU and a 408-136 career record in his 37th season.
• Denver enters the campaign sixth in senior class wins (2017-21) with 40, eight behind national leaders Duke.
• Yale transfer Jackson Morrill has recorded a point in 56-straight games, recording 212 points (106-106) during the stretch.
• Ethan Walker has scored a goal in 19 straight games, recording 75 points in the stretch (53-22).
• The 2021 Denver Pioneers have players from 18 different states across the country.
  • Since turning Division I ahead of the 1999 season, the Pioneers have had players from 32 different states.
• Denver is 102-21 at Peter Barton since it was built in 2005
  • 71-12 under head coach Bill Tierney

What's Next
Denver will head to the Carolinas next weekend to take on Duke (February 5) and North Carolina (February 7).
