Denver, Colo. – Freshman forward
Carter Savoie of the Denver Pioneers hockey team was named National Rookie of the Month for December, the Hockey Commissioners Association announced on Tuesday.
Savoie led NCAA rookies with 11 points (7-4-11) through 10 games in December. His seven goals tied for the most among NCAA first-years and included four power-play goals as well as a game-winner against North Dakota on Dec. 8. The Edmonton Oilers prospect and St. Albert, Alberta native recorded at least one point in eight of ten games in the NCHC Pod, thrice scoring multiple points in a game. He was named NCHC Rookie of the Month on Jan. 1.
