LEXINGTON, KY. – University of Denver Volleyball graduate student Tina Boe was recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Tuesday for her fantastic season. Boe was named to the Midwest All-Region Team in a release by the association.

This marks the first time that Plymouth, Minn. native has earned all-region honors by the AVCA. She was a Midwest All-Region honorable mention selection last year.

"Tina exemplifies what it means to be a Denver Pioneer," head coach Tom Hogan said. "Her remarkable character, work ethic and dedication to our program has been a significant factor to our team's overall success. It is great to see Tina recognized at the highest level of collegiate volleyball, and we are proud of everything she has accomplished both on and off the court as a Pioneer."

Boe is coming off her third straight All-Summit League First Team selection this past fall.

The fifth year graduate student took her game to another level in the fall season of 2021, ranking first in the Summit League in hitting percentage at .412, which also was 13th in all of the NCAA. She finished ranked third on the team in kills with a career-high 234. Not just an offensive force, Boe got it done in the middle around the net with 99 total blocks on the season, second on the team.
 
Boe helped power a Pioneer team that was a model of efficiency all season, ranking 24th in the country in opponent hitting percentage (.166) and 26th in hitting percentage (.263).
 
The Plymouth, Minn. native got her season off to a fast start, earning All-Tournament Team honors at the Trojan Invitational back in August, where the Pioneers swept the competition, winning all three matches it played in.

The Crimson and Gold finished the year with 23-6 record.
