As it Happened:

First Half:
Neither team started with hot shooting, combining to go 4-for-16 to start the contest, with New Mexico taking a 6-4 lead at the first media timeout at the 14:30 mark. The Lobos doubled up the Pioneers on a layup from Saquan Singleton at 12-6. Denver got it back to within four points on a great pass from Johnson to Michael Henn down low for his first points, making it 15-11 UNM. New Mexico made its move right after, using a 7-0 run over a 55-second span to push the lead into double figures at 22-11, forcing the Crimson and Gold to take a timeout. The Lobos held on to the double-digit lead going into the half, up 41-27.

Second Half:
The Pioneers started final 20 minutes of play by scoring the first four points, cutting the UNM lead to 10 at 41-31. New Mexico, though, immediately countered with a 12-3 run to extend its lead to 53-34 with 13:25 remaining. Pioneers couldn't get any closer than 11 the rest of the way despite some big 3s from Porter.
