MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The No. 7-ranked University of Denver gymnastics team earned a 196.375 on the road on Thursday, hitting 100 percent of its routines for the second week in a row despite a shortened week of training.
DU topped host West Virginia (195.400), winning all five individual titles after traveling across two time zones only four days after the team's last meet.
COACH'S NOTES:
From head coach
Melissa Kutcher-Rinehart: "We went 24-for-24 with an incredibly strong beam performance in the last rotation to close out the meet. They showed a championship mentality, especially with it being a morning meet and traveling halfway across the country. We had multiple student-athletes come back but with very limited training, and we're still not at full strength. They performed with confidence and showed their mental toughness, and it's excellent preparation for the rest of the season and when we come back here for the Big 12 Championship."
