The Denver Pioneers women's tennis team defeated Kansas for the first time since 2016 with a 5-2 win on Friday at the Jayhawk Tennis Center in Lawrence, Kansas.
Denver took the doubles point with a 6-0 win from No. 36

Hada Chang over No. 49 Malkia Ngounoue/Carmen Roxana Manu at #1 and a 6-2 win from
Anna Riedmiller/
Tatum Burger at #3. The Pioneers then proceeded to win on four singles courts, clinching the match with
Britt Pursell's 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 win at #3. Riedmiller won in straight sets at #2 to improve to 4-1 and
Toni Nelson came back after dropping the first set to win at #6 and stay undefeated in singles play at 4-0.
The Pioneers will face Kansas State on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 9 a.m. MT.
