Logan, Utah – The Denver Pioneers men's tennis team won its fourth straight match with a 6-1 victory against Utah State on Friday, Feb. 19.
Doubles
Utah State took the first doubles match with a 6-3 win at #2, but Denver stole the team point with a 6-1 win from
Nicolas Herrero Cuesta/
Ignacio Rivero Crespo at #3 and a 7-5 win from No. 42
Matt Summers/
James Davis at #1.
Singles
Summers & Davis carried their momentum into singles play. Summers was the first court to finish with a 6-3, 6-0 win at #3, then Davis put the Pioneers ahead 3-0 with a 6-4, 6-3 win at #2.
Peter Sallay clinched the match with a 7-6, 6-7, 6-2 win at #4. Herrero Cuesta and Crespo added wins at #5 and #6 after Denver's victory.
