DENVER – Taylor Melville saved match points in the second set tiebreaker at #1 singles to help the Denver Pioneers women's tennis team to a 4-3 win against Colorado on Sunday at the Denver Tennis Park.
Melville's defense in the second set tiebreaker led to her winning the third set 6-2 and giving Denver its sixth straight victory against the Buffaloes and fifth win in the last six matches.
Singles
Britt Pursell and Anna Riedmiler's wins paved the way for Melville to seal the match. Pursell won 6-0, 6-4 at #3 for her fifth straight singles win and Riedmiller won 6-1, 6-1 at #2 for her seventh straight singles win.
Doubles
Denver swept the doubles courts with Riedmiller/
Hada Chang logging the biggest margin of victory, a 6-1 win at #2. Pursell &
Camille Verden-Anderson won their fifth straight match together.
Denver is set to return to the court Saturday, Feb. 27 vs. Utah and Sunday, Feb. 29 vs. Colorado State at the Denver Tennis Park.
