DENVER – The Denver Pioneers men's tennis team is set to play a single road match this weekend with a matchup at Air Force on Saturday, Feb. 27.
The Pioneers defeated the Falcons 6-1 earlier this season at the Denver Tennis Park. The win on Jan. 29
th marked the beginning of Denver's current five-match winning streak as well as improved the Crimson & Gold's all-time record to 17-3 vs. Air Force. The Pioneers have won their last 13 meetings with the Falcons and have never lost in the Mile High City.
James Davis has won his last six singles matches to post a team-best 6-1 record. The senior from Barnstaple, England is 5-0 at #2 and 1-1 at #3. Senior
Matt Summers is 5-0 at #3 and freshman
Peter Sallay is 5-1 at #4. In doubles play, Davis/Summers are 4-3 at #1 and ranked 42
nd in the country.
First serve is set for at 2 p.m. MT on Saturday in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Pioneers will host Metro State on Monday, March 1 at 12 p.m. MT.
