DENVER – The No. 32 Denver Pioneers men's tennis team won it eighth straight match with a 4-2 win at New Mexico on Friday.
The Pioneers opened the match with the doubles point on a 6-3 win from their top tandem,
Matt Summers/
James Davis, at #1 and a 6-4 victory from
Nicolas Herrero Cuesta/
Ignacio Rivero Crespo at #3.
Each of Denver's singles wins was decided in three sets.
Mattia Ros and
Daniel Krulig both came back from first-set losses to win at #2 and #4, respectively. Ros was victorious in a 3-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3 decision, while Krulig won 5-7, 6-3, 6-1 at #6.
Peter Sallay won in a tiebreaker 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (6).
UP NEXT: Denver is set to return to the court on Saturday, March 27 at Wichita State.
