DENVER  – The University of Denver women's lacrosse team completed the weekend sweep of Butler with a 17-5 win on Sunday afternoon at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.
 
Inside the Box Score:
Bea Behrins netted her first sock trick of the season and the second of her career (Feb. 15, 2020 at Louisville) to lead Denver's offense on Sunday. In addition to her impressive goal-scoring day, Behrins had three caused turnovers and picked up two ground balls.
 
Caroline Wiseman completed her third hat trick in as many games to go along with two assists for a five-point day. Hannah Liddy also had a five-point afternoon with two goals and three assists.
 
Starting goalkeeper Amelia Cole made seven saves against five goals allowed in Denver's fourth win of the campaign.
 
First Half:
Denver opened the game on a 6-1 run in the first 9:02 Sunday morning. Wiseman opened the scoring for the Pioneers 1:12 into proceedings. Behrins answered Butler's only goal in the first 10 minutes with a tally. Ellie Curry, Liddy, Little and Behrins ended the run for the Pioneers, goals that included two assists from Kailey Conry.
 
Butler put an end to the run with two free-position goals to cut the Pioneers lead to three at 6-3.
 
Denver ended the half on a 4-1 run in the final 13:27. Behrins scored two more goals in the run, Wiseman added her second and Liddy netted her second to cap the first half scoring and send the Pioneers into the intermission with a 10-4 lead.  
 
Second Half:
The Pioneers outscored the Bulldogs 7-1 in the second half, including a 5-0 spurt in the final 22:32 to end the game. Conry opened the second half scoring with an unassisted goal. Denver also got two goals from Julia Gilbert, a tally from Eliza Radochonski, two from Behrins and one from Wiseman.
 
Up Next: Denver will close out its six-game homestand next weekend with a two-game set against Georgetown. The series-opener is set for Friday (March 26) at 1 p.m. MT.
