Last Time Out
Denver used a 17-goal first half to pull away from Providence last Saturday at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium, winning its BIG EAST home opener 23-10. Denver had four players record hat tricks and set a school record for assists with 18.
DI Series History
The Pioneers have won the previous six meetings between the two programs, three at Peter Barton and three in New York. Denver won 15-12 in Queens in the last meeting in April of 2019.
Other Team Notes
- Head coach Bill Tierney is in his 12th season with the Pioneers, holding a 140-45 record at DU and a 412-138 career record in his 37th season.
- Denver is fourth in senior class wins (2017-21) with 44, nine behind national leaders Duke.
- Yale transfer Jackson Morrill has recorded a point in 62-straight games, recording 236 points (120-116) during the stretch. That streak leads the country.
- The 2021 Denver Pioneers have players from 18 different states across the country.
- Since turning Division I ahead of the 1999 season, the Pioneers have had players from 32 different states.
- Ethan Walker is second in career points with 240, 15 points behind Wes Berg for the program record.
- Walker is also third in goals with 155 (33 behind Berg).
What's Next
The University of Denver men's lacrosse program,
presented by Your Front Range Toyota Stores will return home next Saturday to host fourth-ranked Georgetown. The game is set to faceoff at 12 p.m. MT and will be broadcast on Altitude TV and ESPN Denver 1600.
