DENVER – The University of Denver Ski Team had 19 skiers named to the National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team by the United States Collegiate Ski Coaches Association on Tuesday.
To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. In prior years because membership in the three conferences spans all divisions in the NCAA and not all institutions competed in winter sports due to the pandemic, the normal requirement of participation in one of three NCAA Regional competitions was waived.
On the Alpine side, it was
Reece Bell,
Nora Brand,
Simon Fournier,
Colby Lane,
Tristan Lane,
Cole Puckett,
Trey Seymour,
Amelia Smart,
Eleri Smart and
Galena Wardle.
For Nordic, it was
Evan Barbier,
Jimmy Colfer,
Bernhard Flaschberger,
Ole Marius Kirkeng,
Emma Larsson,
Vera Norli,
Borgar Norrud,
Eveliina Piippo and
Hanna Ray.
This is the first career selections for Brand, Fournier, (Tristan) Lane, Seymour, Smart Wardle, Barbier, Norrud, Piippo and Ray.
Bell, (Colby) Lane, Puckett, (Eleri) Smart, Colfer, Flaschberger, Larsson and Norli made the team for the second time in their careers.
Kirkeng became a three-time selection and (Amelia) Smart made the team for a fourth straight season.
