DENVER – The [50/44] University of Denver men's tennis program won its 12th match in the last 13, pulling out a 4-3 win over Summit League foe Drake on Saturday afternoon at the Denver Tennis Park.
Doubles:
Denver opened the match with a doubles-point win, earning wins on the first and third courts Saturday. Matt Summers and James Davis blew their match wide open, winning 6-1, and Ignacio Rivero Crespo and Nicolas Herrero Cuesta earned a 6-2 victory on court No. 3.
Singles:
The back-third of Denver's lineup came up big again for the Pioneers, as Denver earned wins at No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 on Saturday. Davis ran his singles record to 11-3 on the season with a 6-2, 6-3 victory. Herrero Cuesta won 6-1, 6-1 on the No. 5 court and Rivero Crespo won 6-1, 6-3 on the No. 6 court, as the duo won their sixth-straight singles matches.
