[-/25] Denver Wins 11th Conference Tournament Title; Defeats Omaha 3-0

Glover, Feller and Sharp send Denver to a Summit League double, sweeping the regular season and tournament titles

OMAHA  – The [-/25] University of Denver women's soccer team won its third Summit League Tournament title in four years as the Pioneers defeated Omaha, 3-0 in the Summit League Women's Soccer Final on Saturday evening at Caniglia Field.

Inside the Box Score:
Thursday's game-winning goal scorer Kaitlyn Glover got on the scoresheet again on Saturday in the fourth minute off Summit League Offensive Player of the Year Natalie Beckman's 13th assist of the season and the 33rd point of her campaign. Sami Feller made it 2-0 just before halftime to double Denver's lead.

Sydney Sharp's second of the weekend came on the other side of halftime to put the Pioneers 3-0 ahead.

Beckman's 13th assist in the first half broke the Summit League single-season record for assists, and her 29th career assist broke the Summit League career record.

All Tournament Team:
Glover was named the Summit League Tournament MVP. Beckman, Feller, Sharp and Nerea Arrazola joined Glover on the All-Tournament Team.

First Half:
Some soccer finals can take awhile to settle in as the two teams feel each other's tactics out. That wasn't the case on Saturday evening as Beckman was able to get to the endline late in the fourth minute and pick out a wide-open Glover on the back post for the early Denver breakthrough. Glover's goal was her second of the weekend and fourth of the season while Beckman earned career assist number 28 to go with point number 60.

Omaha nearly equalized twice in the middle of the first half. In the 18th minute, the Mavs put the ball in the back of the net, but the linesman's flag was up for offside. In the 35th minute, Omaha struck the crossbar, but Nerea Arrazola was able to clear the rebound away from danger to preserve the 1-0 lead.

Feller's goal to make it 2-0 came 5:07 from the end of the half when an Omaha player slipped just outside the box. Feller ran onto the ball and beat the keeper 1v1 for her eighth goal of the season and the 25th of her career.

The shots were even at 4-4 in the opening 45 minutes, and Denver took three of the four corners.

Second Half:
The worst lead in soccer was no more in the 54th minute as Sharp made it 3-0 just over seven minutes after the intermission. Brittney Lewis' pass into Beckman at the top of the box was deflected but still reached its intended target. Beckman flicked the bouncing ball over the Omaha backline to Sharp at the penalty spot, who finished her sixth goal of the season and the ninth of her career.
