DU Wraps Up Day One of BYU Ping Cougar Classic

Play suspended due to darkness in round 2
PROVO, Utah – The University of Denver men's golf team closed out day one of the BYU Ping Cougar Classic on Friday, tying for ninth after one round. Play was suspended in the second due to darkness.
Course Info:
- Riverside Country Club
- Par 72 for the course
- 7,142 yards
Significant Stats:
- No. 28 San Francisco leads the field after one round of play.
Inside the Round for the Pioneers:
- Jackson Solem and Connor Jones tied for 24th at 2-under through 18 holes of play.
- John Sand and Cal McCoy wrapped up their opening round tied for 47th.
- Carson Griggs closed out the first round tied for 92nd.
- Jun Ho Won, competing as an individual, opened the day with a scorching 65 (7-under) in the first round, putting him in a tie through 18 holes.
