DENVER – The University of Denver men's tennis team got the doubles point and won singles matches on courts one, five and six to secure a 4-0 win in the first of two Summit League Semifinals on Friday morning at the Denver Tennis Park.
89th-ranked Matt Summers and James Davis won their match on the top court 6-1, while Mattia Ros and Peter Sallay also won their match on the second court by a count of 6-1.
In singles action, 94th-ranked Davis won 6-2, 6-1. On the fifth court, Nicolas Herrero Cuesta won 6-4, 6-2 and Ignacio Rivero Crespo won 6-1, 6-1 to wrap-up the morning.
Significant Stats
- Davis improved to 14-3 in singles this season
- Cuesta improved to 13-1 in singes, winner of his last nine matches
- Crespo is 9-1 in singles this season, having won his last eight.
