DU Finishes Up First Round of Stitch Intercollegiate

Solem shoots 3-under on first round
CARY, N.C. – The University of Denver men's golf closed out the first round of the Stitch Intercollegiate on Friday. The Pioneers posted a team score of 289 (1-over) to finish tied for ninth in the field.

- MacGregor Downs Country Club
- Par 72 for the course
- 6,973 yards
Significant Stats:
- Host North Carolina State leads the 12-team field at 20-under (268)
Inside the Round for the Pioneers:
- Jackson Solem led the Denver charge by tying for 11th after shooting a 3-under 69 in his opening round.
- Cal McCoy wrapped up his first round of the two-day event tied for 16th at 2-under.
- John Sand, making his season debut, shot a 2-over 74, putting him in a tie for 45th.
- Connor Jones and Carson Griggs shot a 76 to tie for 56th on Friday.

The Pioneers close out the tournament on Saturday.
