DENVER – The [50/44] University of Denver men's tennis program took down Omaha 6-1 on Friday afternoon at the Denver Tennis Park.
With the win, Denver improved to 11-3 on the season and 2-0 in the Summit League, winners of 11 of its last 12 matches.
Doubles:
Denver earned wins on the No. 2 court and the No. 3 court to earn the doubles point. The tandem of Peter Sallay and Mattia Ros won 6-2, and Ignacio Rivero Crespo and Nicolas Herrero Cuesta earned a 6-4 win at third doubles.
Singles:
The Pioneers got points at No. 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 to secure the Summit League victory. James Davis improved to 10-3 on the season with a 6-2, 6-1 win on the No. 3 court. Rivero Crespo and Herrero Cuesta won their fifth-straight singles matches in the back-third of Denver's lineup, winning 6-1, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-3, respectively. Sallay continued his impressive play on the No. 4 court, winning his 10th singles match of the season in straight sets by counts of 7-5 and 6-1. Ros won the only three-set match of the afternoon for the Pioneers, taking the No. 2 court 6-2, 2-6, 6-1.

Denver will continue this weekend's busy three-match stretch tomorrow (Saturday), when the Pioneers host Drake at 10 a.m. MT at the Denver Tennis Park. The Pioneers will then head to North Dakota for an 11 a.m. MT first serve in Fargo.
