DENVER – The [49] University of Denver women's tennis program captured its seventh-straight Summit League Tournament title, defeating Kansas City 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Denver Tennis Park.
In addition to the program's seventh-straight tournament title, Saturday marked Denver's ninth conference tournament title in its Division I history. Denver's win was its 11th-straight and its 14
th in its last 15 matches.
Doubles:
Denver had the lead in all three doubles matches, clinching the point on courts two and three.
Hada Chang and
Anna Riedmiller won their match 6-1 on the second court and
Toni Nelson and
Taylor Melville also won 6-1 on the third court.
Britt Pursell and
Camille Verden-Anderson were serving up 5-3 in the match when play stopped.
Singles:
The Pioneers wrapped up the match with wins on court one, three and six. [123] Riedmiller won on the top court with a 6-3, 6-1 straight-set victory.
Tatum Burger won 6-1, 6-2 and Pursell clinched the match for the Pioneers with a 6-2, 6-1 win on court three.
Significant Stats:
- Burger won her sixth-straight match to improve to 8-6 on the campaign.
- Riedmiller won her 14th-straight singles match.
- Pursell improved to 12-3 on the campaign.
