Sophomore shoots 4-over in opening round
SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. – University of Denver women's golf sophomore Anna Zanusso closed out the opening round of stroke play at the NCAA Championship on Friday, finishing in a tie for 74th. The Pioneer shot a 4-over 76 in the first round of play.

Significant Stats:
- Second-ranked Rachel Heck of No. 6 Stanford leads the field at 3-under through 18 holes of play.
- No. 17 Texas leads the team leader board at 1-over.
Inside the Round for the Pioneers:
- Zanusso opened the front nine steady, shooting an even par 36.
- The back nine for Zanusso, and the rest of the field, was challenge, with the super sophomore going 4-over during the stretch.
- Zanusso was dominant on the par 5s on the afternoon, shooting 1-under on those holes.
Up Next:
Zanusso looks to make a move up the leader board on Saturday during round two.
