DENVER – The annual Denver Hockey Student Ticket Campout returns to the Ritchie Center this Friday, Oct. 1, after a year away due to the COVID-19 pandemic
A limited amount of student tickets for the 2021-22 hockey campaign become available on Saturday, Oct. 2 at 8 a.m., and students must be in line to receive a golden ticket—their access to every game this season.
Students can start pitching their tents on Friday at 8 a.m. on the northside of the Ritchie Center along Buchtel Boulevard and are encouraged to spend the night to secure their place in line (make sure to also bring a sleeping bag, blankets, camping chairs and an appetite).
The University of Denver Athletics and Recreation department has organized several events throughout the day and night to help students pass the time, including games and free food from Canes, Snarfs, Insomnia Cookies, Denver Pops and more (while supplies last). Masks are required at all indoor events inside the Ritchie Center.
Friday Event Timeline
8:00 a.m. – Tents can begin being setup
5:00 p.m. – Denver Pops
5:00 p.m. – Cornhole Tournament, Giant Pong, Giant Jenga, Denver SWAG Giveaways
6:00 p.m. – Live DJ
6:30 p.m. – Raising Canes
6:30 p.m. – Hockey Intrasquad scrimmage inside Magness Arena (sit in north stands)
7:00 p.m. – Cakewalk
9:00 p.m. – Disco Skate on Magness Arena (must enter through Joy Burns)
10:00 p.m. – Movie + Popcorn (Mighty Ducks)
12:00 a.m. – Milk & Cookies (Insomnia Cookies)
6:00 a.m. – Donuts Delivery & Ticketing Line Queuing
8:00 a.m. – Tickets go on sale on Saturday morning
UP NEXT: The DU hockey team hosts Lindenwood University in an exhibition at Magness Arena on Saturday, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. MT. The event is free for students and season-tickets holders, while general admission tickets are only $10.
