DENVER (DU/NCAA) –University of Denver men's lacrosse alum
Danny Logan has been named a recipient of the prestigious NCAA Today's Top 10 Award, the National Collegiate Athletic Association announced on Tuesday.
"In over 40 years of college coaching I have had three young men be recognized with one of these major NCAA Awards. These honors are amazing but don't tell the whole story of people like
Danny Logan. He is tireless as an athlete, selfless as a teammate and incomparable as a leader. In the last five years, it has been a true blessing for me, my staff and the University of Denver to have Danny as a shining example of the Pioneer Way."
The award recognizes former student-athletes for their successes on the field, in the classroom and in the community. The recipients — who completed their athletics eligibility during the 2020-21 academic year — will be recognized at the Honors Celebration on Jan. 19 during the NCAA Convention in Indianapolis. The awards ceremony will also be streamed via the NCAA Twitter account.
Logan was a USILA First Team All-America selection in 2021 and a two-time Inside Lacrosse All-American (first team in 2021, third team in 2020). He was a two-time Tewaaraton Watch List honoree and a 2021 Tewaaraton Award Nominee. Logan finished eighth in Denver's Division I history in career ground balls (186), third in caused turnovers (50) and second in games played (72). Following his Denver career, Logan was taken 11
th overall by Atlas in the 2021 PLL Draft, and later received the PLL's Hard Hat Award.
The NCAA Honors Committee, which selects the honorees, is composed of representatives from member schools and conferences, as well as nationally distinguished citizens, including past awardees.
