Denver Falls to Wichita State 6-1

The Pioneers will host Metro State Saturday at 1:30 p.m. MT

DENVER – The University of Denver men's tennis program (4-2) fell to Wichita State (6-3) 6-1 on Thursday afternoon at the Denver Tennis Park.
 
Doubles:
Denver's Charlie Miller and Peter Sallay improved to 3-0 on the year as a tandem together on court two. Wichita State grabbed the win on court one turning all eyes on court three for a wild tiebreak. The Pioneers came from 4-0 down in the tiebreak to even things up at 6-6, but the Shockers pulled out the tiebreak and secured the doubles point, a breaker that finished 11-9.
 
Singles:
Nicolas Herrero Cuesta
secured Denver's lone point of the afternoon, winning his match 6-1, 6-2 to improve to 5-1 on the year with all six matches being played on Denver's second court.
 
Three of the other five singles matches went to a third set.

UP NEXT: Denver will stay home this weekend to take on Metro State Saturday at 1:30 p.m. MT.
