DENVER – The University of Denver women's tennis team (1-2) fell to Wisconsin (5-0) 5-2 on Friday afternoon at the Denver Tennis Park.
 
Doubles:
After Wisconsin grabbed a 6-3 win on court three, Denver's No. 1 doubles tandem of Camille Verden-Anderson and Britt Pursell came from a break down to take their match 6-4 to even things up.
 
The Badgers grabbed the decisive court two to take the doubles point.
 
Singles:
Wisconsin grabbed straight-set wins on the top two courts to extend its lead to 3-0 two hours into the match. At the time of the Badgers third point, Pursell had a set and a break lead on court three, and the Pioneers also had set leads on the remaining three courts.
 
Pursell was the first Pioneer to the finish line, taking her match in straight sets 7-6 (5), 6-2 to improve to 2-1 in singles on the young season.
 
Wisconsin clinched the match on court five and then Andrea Burguete Beltran clinched her first singles match of the season with a three-set victory by a count of 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.
 
The Badgers' fifth point of the afternoon came on court six to close out the scoring.
