BOISE, Idaho – The [55] University of Denver men's tennis team (6-6) won the doubles point, but dropped four of the six singles matches in a 4-3 loss at Boise State on Friday night at the Boas Tennis Center.
Denver played its fourth 4-3 match of the season on Friday, falling to 2-2 in such matches.
Doubles:
Denver won the doubles point on Friday night, courtesy of victories on the first and third courts. After
James Davis had to miss Denver's last match against Gonzaga, the Pioneers top doubles tandem of Davis and
Matt Summers got back together Friday night and put together a 6-3 victory to improve to 6-3 on the season.
Nicolas Herrero-Cuesta and
Daniel Krulig got Denver's victory on court three with a 6-2 win to improve to 2-1 in the campaign.
Singles:
Summers was responsible for a pair of points on Friday night, winning his singles match in three sets at 3-6, 6-0, 6-1.
Charlie Miller got Denver's other singles point with a three-set win of his own by the count of 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Denver lost on the even courts in straight-sets and lost in a third-set tiebreaker on court one to give Boise State the victory.
UP NEXT: Denver will stay in Boise for a neutral site match tomorrow when the Pioneers take on Loyola Marymount at 12 p.m. MT.
