SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The [48] University of Denver women's tennis ran its win streak to seven-straight matches and extended its perfect start in the Summit League to 3-0 with a 5-2 victory over South Dakota on Friday afternoon at Family Match Pointe in Sioux Falls.
Doubles:
Denver got the doubles point with wins on court two and court three to start the afternoon. The Pioneers'
Tatum Burger and
Andrea Burguete Beltran won their second straight matches in two total together, taking their doubles set 6-3.
Taylor Melville and
Toni Nelson won on court two as well by the same 6-3 score. Melville and Nelson are 3-0 together this season.
Singles:
Denver once again played without top singles player
Anna Riedmiller, forcing another shift at the top of the line.
Burguete Beltran was the first over the line to make it 2-0 Denver in the match, taking her singles match 6-2, 6-1 for her fifth-straight win and her seventh win in 10 tries this season.
Burger won her third-straight singles match to improve to 5-2 on the campaign, winning in Denver's No. 6 spot in the lineup in straight sets by a count of 6-0, 6-1.
Camille Verden-Anderson clinched the match for the Pioneers with a straight-set win of her own, finishing at 6-0, 6-1 to run her record to 7-3 in singles with her fifth-straight win.
Nelson made it 5-0 Denver with her win on court five, taking the match 6-1, 6-2 to stretch her win streak to five and improve to 7-3 on the year.
Back-to-back Summit League Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Britt Pursell had her seven-match win streak snapped on court two on Friday afternoon to give the Coyotes their first point of the day.
USD got its second point on court one in a super tiebreaker to cut Denver's victorious margin to 5-2.

Denver (8-4, 3-0) will wrap-up their two-match Summit League weekend on Saturday when the Pioneers take on North Dakota (8-7, 1-0). First serve in Grand Forks is set for 4 p.m. MT.
