GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The [48] University of Denver women's tennis won its eighth-straight match and improved to 4-0 in Summit League play with a 7-0 blanking of North Dakota on Saturday afternoon at Choice Health and Fitness.
Denver's 7-0 victory is its fifth shutout during the eight-game win streak and increases its margin over Summit League opposition this season to 26-2.
Doubles:
Taylor Melville and
Toni Nelson kept up their unbeaten run, improving to 4-0 on the year with a 6-1 win on court two. Denver's other doubles win to clinch the point came on court three, a 6-2 victory for
Tatum Burger and
Andrea Burguete Beltran. That duo is 3-0 together this season.
Singles:
Denver swept all six singles courts after dropping two matches at South Dakota 24 hours ago. Melville improved to 6-5 on the season with her second-straight win, a 6-3, 6-3 decision on court one.
Britt Pursell became the first Pioneer to get to double figures in singles wins this season, taking her 10
th victory in 13 matches by a count of 6-3, 7-6 (3). Burguete Beltran won her sixth-straight match on court three to improve to 8-3 on the year, taking the tie 6-3, 6-0.
Camille Verden-Anderson won her court four match 6-2, 6-1 to run her win streak to six and improve to 8-3 on the season. Nelson improved to 8-3 with her sixth-straight win at 6-1, 7-6. Burger won 6-1, 6-3 to go to 6-2 on the year and stretch her win streak to four.

Denver (9-4, 3-0) will step back out of Summit League play and head to Lubbock, Texas, next weekend for a pair of matches against Texas schools. The Pioneers will first take on SMU in a neutral site match on Thursday at 12 p.m. MT before the Pioneers take on the host Red Raiders on Saturday at 11 a.m. MT.
