The Hobey Baker Award annually recognizes college hockey's most outstanding player that exemplifies character, sportsmanship, academic achieve and excellence on the ice.
Three "Hobey Hat Trick" finalists will be announced on March 31, and this year's Hobey Baker Award recipient will be revealed on April 8 during the NCAA Frozen Four in Boston, Massachusetts. Fans can vote for the winner of the award starting on Thursday as part of phase two fan voting. Fan balloting ends on March 27 and accounts for one percent of the total ballots for the award.
Brink is the first Pioneers player to be named a top-10 finalist since
Henrik Borgstrom finished among the top three in 2018. Denver has won the award twice in its history, as defenseman
Matt Carle was the recipient in 2006 while defenseman
Will Butcher earned the accolade in 2017.
Brink is also a finalist for the National Collegiate Hockey Conference Player of the Year and Forward of the Year awards, which will be announced at the annual NCHC Awards Ceremony on Thursday evening in St. Paul, Minnesota.
The Minnetonka, Minnesota, native leads the nation with a career-high 55 points and 41 assists, the most by a Pioneer since
Gabe Gauthier had 57 points in 2004-05 and
Matt Carle had 42 assists in his Hobey Baker-winning campaign in 2005-06. He is the only player in the nation to reach the 50-point threshold, which he achieved with an assist on Feb. 26 at Omaha.
Brink has registered 46 points (11g/35a) in the last 28 games and is also first in the country with a 1.56 points-per-game average. He gained 35 (9g/26a) of his 53 points during conference play, the most in the NCHC.

Danton Heinen had an 18-game run from Jan. 22-March 27, 2017 (14g/20a). He picked up at least one assist in each of the first 13 games of the streak, also a personal best.
Selected in the second round (34th overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers, Brink has recorded 90 points (27g/63a) and owns a 1.14 points-per-game average in 79 career games.

To be eligible for the Distinguished Scholar-Athlete award, a player must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better.
