DENVER – The [69] University of Denver men's tennis team (10-6, 1-0) won all singles matches in 12 sets to make-up for a lost doubles point in a 6-1 win over North Dakota (10-7, 2-1) on Sunday morning at the Denver Tennis Park.
Doubles:
Mattia Ros and
Daniel Krulig won their doubles match 6-4 on court three, but North Dakota took the doubles point with wins on the other two courts to take an early 1-0 lead.
Singles:
Denver won all six singles matches on Sunday morning, with the Pioneers winning all 12 sets.
James Davis won 6-3, 6-3 on court one. Davis won his third-straight match and improved to 8-4 on the season.
Nico Herrero-Cuesta took his match 6-3, 6-4 to get to 11-3 on the season with his third-straight victory.
Matt Summers played the leads amount of games on Sunday, winning his straight-set match 6-1, 6-4. Summers is the first to 12 singles wins on the campaign.
Peter Sallay won 6-4, 6-4 on court four. Sallay got back to .500 with his victory, improving to 7-7 on the season with his second-straight victory.
Krulig completed his second win of the day with a 6-4, 6-4 win on court five. The win on court five was the third-straight for Krulig, who improved to 6-5 on the year.
Charlie Miller closed out singles play with a 6-3, 6-3 win on court six. Miller is 6-3 in singles play in 2022.
UP NEXT: Denver will continue Summit League play on Friday when the Pioneers welcome Oral Roberts to the Denver Tennis Park. First serve is set for 1 p.m. MT.
